The chamber series concert presents a trio of woodwind instruments – oboe, clarinet and bassoon. 

Composed in 1935, the Cinq Pièces en Trio have a wonderfully light charm about them. A witty Allegro to start is followed by a reflective Andantino and a modern minuet with a graceful cuckoo passage. A second slow movement transitions to an effective finale to bring this piece to a charismatic end. 

Georges Auric’s Trio is a piece full of humour and panache. Making use of memorable melodies throughout, it engages with audiences with driving rhythms and well-balanced phrases.
