This concert features members of the MPO’s horn section in a varied chamber programme. 

Mozart’s set of twelve duos for wind instruments, originally composed for Basset Horns or French Horns, were written in the same period of the horn concertos and were dedicated to the composer’s friend and virtuoso horn player Joseph Leutgeb. 

Reicha’s collection of 24 horn trios reflect the composer’s penchant to write works for identical instruments whilst highlighting his pedagogical interest and counterpoint affinity.
