Both the Central Bank of Malta and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra were established in April 1968, so it is perhaps only natural for the orchestra to help mark the Central Bank’s 50th anniversary through a musical celebrations.
Under the direction of Greek conductor Michalis Economou, the orchestra tackles an eclectic variety of works from composers including Beethoven, Britten, Bruckner, Mahler and Piazzolla, as well as a new composition by Maltese composer Karl Fiorini penned especially for the occasion.
