Call for New Compositions

The Chairman and Board of Directors of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra wish to announce a "Young Composers' Concert" with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.  Young composers, who must be 40 years of age or younger as on 31 December 2009, are asked to submit one orchestral work of 20 minutes maximum duration.  Works must be new and have never been performed. The instrumentation for the submitted work should be within the normal structure of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.  Please click here for further information and regulations.  The chosen works will be performed by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in a special concert which will be held at the Manoel Theatre in November, 2010.  Works, accompanied by a non-refundable registration fee of 20 euro, are to be submitted by not later than noon, Friday 28 May, 2010, at the Orchestra premises, 88 Old Mint Street, Valletta.
