In what marks the Malta Youth Orchestra’s first international collaboration, this Easter concert will see the orchestra join forces with the Jugendorchester Stattegg from Austria, in a shared programme directed by MYO’s resident conductor Riccardo Bianchi and the Austrian ensemble’s own Karl Vorraber, bringing together 60 young musicians. This collaboration will also see the MYO travel to Austria in the summer of 2018.

The first night will be devoted entirely to works for strings and percussion. Attendance is free, and no seats need to be reserved for the first performance.

 A musical smorgasbord, the programme will include a selection of works from the following:
