Music for Passiontide

A lot of music has been written for Passiontide, or rather the last few days of Holy Week. From Malta’s rich tradition of music tied to the rituals of the Catholic Church, this programme presents unique works found solely in the archives of the Mdina Cathedral, researched and edited by Joseph Vella, a pioneer in the research of early music in Malta. Our ‘more’ is featured by Vella’s neo-baroque Concerto for Bassoon and Strings.
